Seneca Mineral Company is located in Erie, Pennsylvania, and has been a leader in ice and dust control products and services since 1957. A family-owned company, we produce, store and distribute LS25, which is an oil-free, naturally occurring clear solution of liquid chlorides, including sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium.
Our liquid calcium chloride, odorless, almost colorless, slightly alkaline fluid with a concentration of CaC12 of 32 percent makes it a common choice for winter deicing applications due to its low freezing point.
A significant improvement on ice melt deicer is potassium acetate. It’s an easy-to-handle, clear, odorless solution. Potassium acetate is also an environmentally friendly choice, as it is non-toxic or hazardous to animal or plant life. It also won’t damage most surfaces, such as lawns, gutters, wood, concrete or metal. Potassium acetate is available in 55 gallon drums, 275 gallon IBC Tote Tanks and bulk deliveries. It’s commonly used as runway deicer at airports.
Seneca Mineral also offers sodium formate for situations in which urea or calcium chloride could harm an environment. It’s available in 55 lb bags, by the pallet or 2,200 lb super sack.
